Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – A drunk man triggered a police operation by showing a blank gun in a Freiburg tram, in which an officer was injured. The man presented the weapon to several acquaintances while driving. This was not hidden from fellow travelers, as the police announced on Wednesday. First of all, a passenger informed a randomly present patrol about the weapon on Tuesday evening when leaving the tram. During the inspection of the 21-year-old suspect, officials discovered the firearm, whereupon the man tried to flee.

Police caught up with him and arrested him. The suspect’s companions, two men and a woman, are said to have tried to disturb the officers. To get the matter under control, more strips were requested on Tuesday. An officer was injured during the operation. The suspect and his companions can expect to be reported for resistance to law enforcement officers.
