Just before 4.30pm on Tuesday, the police received a report of a man who was injured on Nærbø.

The man has been taken in an ambulance, and is being treated for stab wounds, the police report on Twitter.

The police have armed themselves, and are searching for any perpetrator(s).

At 16:48 the police announced on Twitter that it is currently too early to go into details about the course of events.

– Updates will follow. The press phone will not be answered until further notice, the police write in the message.

On Tuesday, several police cars were observed driving with sirens from Bryne and further south.

On Tuesday afternoon, Jærbladet is at Nærbø. The police’s task leader Ole Bjørn Paulsen tells the newspaper that the victim was found in the center of Nærbø, but that they do not yet know where the incident took place.

– The search for the perpetrator is still ongoing. We are missing a lot of information right now, says Paulsen around 5:30 p.m.

The police incident leader states that the victim has suffered stab wounds to the upper body and has been taken to hospital.

– The injuries are serious, he says.

The incident leader says that people in the area do not need to be concerned about safety.
