CPM State Committee Meeting and CPI State Council Meeting in Thiruvananthapuram: Discussions on Election Preparations and Criticisms Against Government Policies

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state committee meeting will be held in Thiruvananthapuram today and tomorrow after the seat sharing talks in the Left Front have been completed. Although the main agenda is the reporting of the central committee meeting, discussions will also take place on preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. Candidate possibilities and policies to be adopted in the election will be discussed. Situations including the SFIO investigation against Exalogic may also be discussed.

The CPI State Council is also meeting in Thiruvananthapuram today. Criticisms against the neglect of the party’s departments in the budget may still be raised in the meeting today. Yesterday, there was a high level of criticism in the state council that the government has a different policy towards the departments governed by the CPI.

The Left Front has forgotten Supplyco, which helped the second Pinarayi government come to power. The food minister’s hand was also criticized by writing a letter to the chief minister. Some in the CPI state council said that the issue of foreign universities was a change in the front’s policy.

VP Unnikrishnan said that crores are being spent on the Chief Minister’s cattle shed and for the cows to listen to music. As the criticism intensified, the Secretary of State intervened. Binoy Vishwam said that nothing should come out till the election is over. Binoy Vishwam also clarified that he should not go into unnecessary discussion. The state council has come under heavy criticism as the CPI alleges that the food and animal welfare departments have been grossly neglected in the budget.
