A runaway cow thwarted police trying to capture her along a highway, but was no match for a cowboy.
Video released by Michigan police shows the stunning scene, as a cow runs along a highway.
The police explained that the animal was first stuck on the outskirts of the road. Authorities feared that once freed, the cow would attempt to escape.
This is exactly what happened.
The police had previously brought in officers on horseback, as well as vehicles, which came in handy.
The video shows the cow galloping down the highway as cars drive by on its left.
Behind the cow, a cowboy mounted on a horse pursues it, lasso in hand.
The cowboy spins the lasso above his head, then throws it towards the cow, which immediately finds itself surrounded by it, after which the race stops.
“The cattle have not been charged and are back in the pasture with a story to tell all the other animals,” Michigan State Police said.
The cow had been on the loose for six weeks, according to WXYZ.
