The Ministry of Health and Social Action took stock of the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in Senegal, this Sunday, August 23, 2020. Out of 1250 tests carried out, 99 came back positive, ie a positivity rate of 7.92%.
These are 36 contact cases already followed and 1 case imported to the AIBD, 62 cases resulting from community transmission. These are distributed as follows: Thiès (9), Bignona (6), Ziguinchor (5), Dakar Plateau (3), Kaolack (3), Keur Massar (3), MBao (3), Saint-Louis (3) , Tivaouane (3), Almadies (2), Foundiougne (2), Liberté (1), Sicap Amitier (1), Dieuppeul (1), Fatick (1), Guédiawaye (1), Guinguinéo (1), Khombole (1 ), Kédougou (1), Kolda (1), Mamelles (1), Maristes (1), M’Bour (1), Ouagou Niaye (1), Oussouye (1), Parcelles Assainies (1), Patte d’oie (1), Richard-Toll (1), Rufisque (1) and Sacré-Cœur (1).
The Chief of Staff to the Minister of Health also announced the recovery of 122 patients who were under treatment, 37 serious cases and 3 deaths.
Senegal currently has 12,949 cases declared positive, including 8,455 cured, 269 dead and therefore 4,224 under treatment.
