Covid vaccines. CanSino batch packaged in Mexico receives high flag

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Relations (SRE), Marcelo Ebrard, and the undersecretary Martha Delgado, gave the starting signal to the first batches of CanSino covid-19 vaccines packaged in Mexico.

According to Daniel Millán, head of the Office of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, more than 900 thousand doses of CanSino biological will come out, ready to apply.

The Mexican company Drugmex is responsible for the final packaging process of the CanSino Biologics vaccine, which is 65.28 percent effective in preventing all symptomatic diseases due to covid-19, and from 90.07 to 95.47 percent to prevent a serious picture after vaccination.

Martha Delgado, undersecretary of Foreign Relations, highlighted that Mexico was the first country to approve the CanSino biological as well as in packaging it outside of China.

Delgado added that this batch “required the transformation of the bottling plant” with arduous work in order to evaluate the efficacy and quality of the Chinese vaccine.

“The first of three batches of Cansino vaccines packaged in the country, we see a second part of arduous work that is part of history to save thousands of lives in the country,” he explained.

CanSino unit dose vaccine will accelerate immunization in Mexico: Ebrard

During the event, Marcelo Ebrard highlighted that this vaccine was early and will take half the time because it is a single dose to “accelerate the pace” in combating the coronavirus pandemic.

“There are important things that one can do, but with this, 940,022 people are not going to be at risk and they are going to have security and tranquility,” said Ebrard.

Four million doses and 35 million vaccines are expected to be delivered in April before the end of 2021.

CanSino’s vaccine is developed on a modified adenovirus type five (Ad5-nCoV) vector technology platform, which has previously successfully developed the Ebola vaccine, and is applied in a single dose.

On February 11, the first shipment of CanSino arrived in Mexico, from China, with an active substance for more than 2 million doses of the anticovid vaccine. So far, more than 5 million doses have been packaged at the plant located in the El Marqués Industrial Park, Querétaro.

The first batch would be delivered to the Ministry of Health for its distribution and application through the state company Biological and Reagent Laboratories of Mexico (Birmex), which will be ready for your application. Between March and June, it is estimated that 6.9 million doses of the vaccine against coviod-19 will be released, and subsequently 1.2 million doses will be obtained each week until reaching 35 million acquired by Mexico by 2021.

CanSino antigen can be stably stored and transported between 2-8 degrees centigrade, which makes its transportation more accessible, especially for remote and difficult-to-access regions.

At the event they were present Zhu Qingqiao, Ambassador of China in Mexico; the director of Birmex, Pedro Zenteno, Y Daniel Millán Valencia, Head of the Office of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
