COVID in Mexico: López-Gatell reveals rise in omicron infections

Hugo López-Gatell, Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion revealed this Tuesday during the morning conference that in the last nine weeks throughout Mexico there has been an increase in positive infections by Covid-19 and its variant Omicron, which he defined as “progressive increase”.

The undersecretary of health recognized that two and a half years after the health contingency due to Covid-19, the progress of the pandemic is currently slower, as well as its transmission and the statistics of hospitalizations and deaths, due to the fact that the application of the vaccine has helped reverse the symptoms from severe to mild.
