COVID cases down 17%; 39 million have a complete vaccine scheme

Mexico registered 5,139 new infections of COVID, as reported this Sunday by the Federal Ministry of Health. So far, 3,511,882 cases have been confirmed since the start of the pandemic.

According to the agency, infections have dropped 17% between weeks 34 and 35 of the year, and there are currently 92 thousand 485 active cases, that is, they have presented symptoms in the last fourteen days.

The states with the highest number of active cases per 100,000 inhabitants are Tabasco, Colima, Mexico City, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.

On the last day, Salud confirmed 224 more deaths from the disease, for which there are already 267 thousand 748 deaths. There are, in addition, 13,249 deaths classified as suspicious of COVID.

At the national level, the authorities report that the occupancy of general beds for COVID patients is 42%, while that of beds with a ventilator is 38%.

68% of adults, with at least one vaccine

This Saturday 538,112 vaccines were applied. In total, so far the Ministry of Health reports that 91 million 729 thousand 391 doses have been supplied.

60 million 759 thousand 845 people have been vaccinated, equivalent to 68% of the population over 18 years of age: of them, 64% have the complete scheme, while 36% only the first dose.
