Covid-19: Vatican confirms case at Pope Francis’ residence – News

According to Matteo Bruni, the patient temporarily left Casa Santa Marta, a residence where the Argentine pontiff preferred to live in the Vatican, and all the people with whom he had direct contact were isolated.

Matteo Bruni also noted that the three Vatican residents who tested positive for coronavirus in the past few days are already cured.

The Vatican Government has mandated the use of the mask throughout its territory, also outdoors, and in all its extraterritorial headquarters, territories and Roman buildings over which it has jurisdiction.

Last Wednesday, Pope Francis did not wear the mask during the general audience with the faithful, and was only seen with it on one occasion, inside a car that took him inside the walls of the Holy See.

However, on Wednesday, for the first time, the pontiff resigned to greet the faithful at the beginning and end of the audience, apologized for that, for renouncing proximity, and urged them to respect the health protocols against the coronavirus.

During the first wave of the pandemic, the Vatican recorded 12 cases of contagion.
