COVID-19: vaccination of children from 5 to 11 years old will be in special places

The vaccination against covid-19 to children from 5 to 11 years of age will be carried out in special places, such as schools and hospitals, and not in the same centers where adults are vaccinated, reported the director of Strategic Public Health Interventions of the Ministry of Health (minsa), Alexis Holguin.

“They are going to be special places. It is also working hand in hand with the minedu to vaccinate at strategic points that are going to be schools and, additionally, in some hospitals. And in the case of children with HIV, they already have a special network (of places where they are treated), he noted.

In this sense, he pointed out that children between 5 and 11 years of age with comorbidities will be the first to be inoculated with the covid-19 vaccine.

“These children who are at higher risk of developing severe diseases and include those with Down syndrome, orphan or rare diseases, who have or live with HIV infection, children with cancer, transplants, type 1 diabetics and obesity ”, he specified. (Andean)
