07h55 – More than 25 million cases in the world

More than 25 million cases of infection with the new coronavirus have been reported worldwide, more than half on the American continent, according to a count made today by the news agency France-Presse (AFP).


Latest report indicates that in Portugal 374 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in 24 hours. There are still three new fatalities.

Of the new cases of infection, 157 occurred in the North, 23 in the Center, 149 in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, three in the Alentejo, 37 in the Algarve, one in the Azores and four in Madeira.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has registered 57,448 cases of infection and 1818 deaths.

Another 210 people have recovered from the disease since yesterday, for a total of 41766 recovered.

There are at least ten people hospitalized since yesterday (there are now 324 in total), but two more have been admitted to intensive care units (40 in total).

Worldwide, the virus has infected nearly 25 million people.
