New cases continue in high numbers
Portugal registered 6,602 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus and 55 deaths associated with the covid-19 disease in the last 24 hours, according to the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) released today.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Portugal has recorded 3,305 deaths and 211,266 cases of infection with the new coronavirus, with 85,444 cases now active, 1,412 more than on Friday.
The highest number of new daily cases of SARS-Cov-2 infection was recorded on Friday, with 6,653 cases.
According to the bulletin, the North region has the highest number of infections and deaths in the last 24 hours, followed by the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley.
