Covid-19 – Stability in critical care in the Aude, + 18% of hospitalizations in 7 days in the Pyrénées-Orientales, sharp drop in the incidence rate because of November 11

Thanks to figures published by Public Health France, L’Indépendant takes stock of the health situation in France and in the departments of Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales, this Sunday, November 14.

Stability in critical care in the Aude

In Aude, 39 people with Covid are hospitalized this Saturday, one more than the day before. A figure, however, down 7% (or 3 patients) over a week. Among these patients, 6 are treated in critical care departments (resuscitation, intensive care or continuous monitoring), sand in 24 hours.

The number of deaths, it has not changed since November 5, nine days, to 413. The incidence rate which has been increasing for several days has recorded a sharp drop according to the figure published this Sunday for the sliding week of 5 to November 11, 64.4 per 100,000 inhabitants against nearly 74 the day before. A figure to be put into perspective, as is the case for each public holiday, since it includes November 11.

Since the start of the epidemic, 1,538 people have been able to leave the hospital.

More and more patients hospitalized in the Pyrénées-Orientales

In the Pyrénées-Orientales, 70 Covid patients are treated in hospitals (3 more in 24 hours). A figure that goes back to its level of September 28. Since November 11, three new Covid patients have been admitted daily to the hospital in the department. Over seven days, the number of Covid hospitalizations increased by 18%. Among them, 7 are supported in critical care services (resuscitation, intensive care or continuous monitoring), unchanged since Saturday. The department has not deplored any additional deaths due to Covid since November 4, or ten days, the toll remaining at 416.

The incidence rate, which has been on the rise since the end of October, has also fallen sharply according to the figure communicated this Sunday by Public Health France. It goes from 91 to 79.5 per 100,000 inhabitants in a sliding week from November 5 to 11, a drop of more than 11 points. The value of this indicator should be put into perspective, however, because of the November 11 public holiday. An equivalent drop was observed for the rolling week of October 26 to 1is November, All Saints Day.

Since March 2020, 1,812 hospitalized people have returned to their homes, including one within 24 hours.

Increase in hospital indicators in France

Nationally, we deplore 17 deaths from Covid in hospital this Saturday, November 13, bringing the hospital balance sheet to 91,228. By adding the 26,897 deaths in nursing homes, since March 2020, 118,125 people have died from Covid according to Public Health France.

There are 7,111 people hospitalized (61 more than the day before), including 1,210 in critical care, or 8 more in 24 hours. France records 12,496 new cases in 24 hours on November 13, against 8,547 last Sunday, an increase of 46%.

The increase in the incidence rate has sharply broken down to 89.4 per 100,000 this Sunday for the week of November 5 to 11, against 98.3 according to the figure published the day before. Figure to be taken with caution for the reasons mentioned above.

Since the start of the epidemic, 430,524,476 patients have been able to return to their homes, cured, including 48 in 24 hours.
