It is not clear how we can make irony about a pandemic that has killed more than 35 thousand deaths in Italy alone. Doing it then linking it to football rivalries is something so far from how things should go. Unfortunately, however, last night on Retequattro in the program Tonight Italy someone still pulled Lazio in the middle, even linking it to the theme of migrants and to that of the spread of Covid-19. The program conducted by Veronica Gentili was almost totally dedicated to the coronavirus emergency in Italy. In the studio with the presenter there were also Gianni Cuperlo and Piero Sansonetti. The director of Il Riformista, accompanying everything with mutual laughter with the neighbor at the table, answered the question on the connection between migrants and the spread of the virus in Italy with a football comparison. The answer left us puzzled: “The two problems are not connected. The coronavirus does not look anyone in the face. Before joking with Cuperlo I said that most of the covid is taken by the Lazio”. The laugh of the PD politician was immediate, while the presenter, visibly embarrassed, distanced herself and then asked Cuperlo: “Confirmation?”. Sansonetti intervened by adding: “The percentage that Lazio take it is higher, he told me (pointing to Cuperlo, ed.” A scene that has not escaped the viewers who protested on social media for a joke that appeared senseless and unmotivated. Immigration and the coronavirus are two serious and important issues that should be treated well without comparisons from stadium and bar. Moreover, but above all, always putting Lazio in the middle tastes paradoxical and the Biancoceleste people are also fed up. Seeing yet another episode that happened yesterday it is impossible to blame him.
