The number of new cases is down slightly this Friday but it remains in the same dynamic of increase in cases observed recently. Two people were able to leave the hospital.
To date, 71 people have lost their lives as a result of Covid-19 contamination in Guyana.
In Brazil, constant growth
Among our neighbors of Oiapoque, progress continues. 53 new contaminations are to be counted this week as well as 27 deaths. Since the start of the epidemic, there have already been 3,225 positive cases.
More broadly, in the state of Amapa, 2,328 new positive cases were detected in one week and 26 people died. The number of cumulative cases therefore climbs to 64,549 for 864 deaths.
On the Suriname side, 91 new people are to be counted among the infected with Covid-19 this week. The intensive care departments indicate the presence of 2 patients. The number of deaths has not changed and remains at 117. Since the pandemic broke out in the country, 5,428 people have been infected with the virus.
