Covid-19 non-sick or unvaccinated self-isolation may not be observed after visiting 6 European countries / Article

People who have not been vaccinated or who have not developed Covid-19 will need to be self-contained when entering Germany. Latvia has also “dropped” from the list of safe countries, according to information published by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC). Six European countries remain on the list of safe countries.

The 14-day cumulative rate of Covid-19 incidence per 100,000 population in the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries fell to 204.3 last week (205.1 a week earlier).

Data from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) show that in Latvia, the 14-day cumulative Covid-19 incidence rate per 100 thousand population has increased to 85.1 (64.1 a week ago).

The incidence has also increased in Estonia, reaching 293.7 last week (254.6 a week earlier). In Lithuania, it has risen to 277.9 (254.5 a week ago).

Travelers entering or returning to Latvia from any EU / EEA country included in the “green” or “yellow” list and holding a vaccination or disease or so-called Covid-19 certificate do not have to comply with self-isolation.

“Green list”. There are six countries on the list of safe countries where the incidence of Covid-19 does not exceed 75 cases per 100,000 population.

In the “yellow” list 27 EU and EEA countries, excluding Latvia, reached more than 75 cases per 100,000 population in 14 days. When entering from these countries, people who have not been vaccinated or have contracted Covid-19 should adhere to self-isolation.

CONTEXT:

The list of safe countries increased significantly in the summer of 2021, but then began to decline again as morbidity rates increased in many parts of Europe due to the Covid-19 delta variant. According to the common European decision, the “green” list threshold in Latvia has also been increased from 50 to 75 diseases cases per 100 000 population. On the other hand, if a person who returns to Latvia is subject to the requirement to observe self-isolation, it may be terminated after seven days, by retesting Covid-19 and finding it negative.
