Emptied of its audience since last October 24, when the closed session went from threat to reality, will the Océane Stadium, and its 25,000 seats, become accessible to fans again before May 15, the day of the last act of the regular football season? First placed under the gauge of 5,000 spectators in September, for two evenings of Ligue 2, before it is significantly reduced (1,000), the blue vessel will sound the hollow tonight for the tenth time in a row. This den which was the first in France, but also in Europe (with a few exceptions) to reopen its doors on July 12 for the reception of PSG. 4,980 tickets had been distributed that day.
“In working order”
Seven months later, if the horizon is struggling to clear, a dose of optimism has however just been injected by Roxana Maracineanu, Minister for Sports, via the possible organization of test matches. And this, in the wake of a statement by Roselyne Bachelot, Minister of Culture, on the holding of summer festivals.
“If the green light is given to festivals, there is no reason why it should not be the same for football, says Clément Calvez, director of business development at Le Havre AC. We are just as structured to claim to welcome the public again. We will obviously wait to find out more, but we are ready. Whatever the constraints, we will get in working order. But it will be important that there is a common reflection, driven by professional football league, especially when determining, if this is the idea chosen, the test stages. “
The Océane Stadium, where six meetings will remain on display once that of this Saturday has been honored, undoubtedly presents, within and around it, all the assets so that a strict protocol can be respected.
