Covid-19 in Colombia: deaths and infections by coronavirus today, January 26 – Health

According to the report of the Ministry of Health of this Wednesday, January 26, in Colombia there were reports of 17.889 new cases of covid-19.

This, after 66,998 tests were processed (28,100 for PCR and 38,898 for antigens). That is, a positivity of 26.7 percent.

On the other hand, the report shows 282 deaths more for the virus. With this update, the total number of deaths in Colombia amounts to 133,019.

The similar death toll had not been recorded since the last week of July 2021, in full decline of the third peak.

These figures show the progress of the fourth peak which, according to some experts, will peak in mid-February.

It should be noted that of the 687 days that the evolution of the pandemic in Colombia completes, officially 11.9 percent of the population has been infected and deaths have compromised 0.26 percent of the population.

The fatality rate is 2.32 percent at a level of territorial involvement in the last month classified as high, with an increase in cases of 233% in the last two weeks and a cumulative positivity in the tests of 22%.

In the country, to date, 31,875,825 tests have been processed. Thus, Colombia reaches 5,798,799 confirmed cases of coronavirus since the pandemic began, in March 2020.

In total, there are 100,970 cases that remain active in Colombia.

In the last 24 hours, in addition, 33,274 recovered patients were reported. Thus, there are already 5,545,155 patients who have overcome covid-19 in the country to date.
