For the director of these structures, Frédéric Delmas, the priorities are targeted: “We immediately warned the families by mail and we also alerted them by phone to inform them about their parents’ state of health. Eight of our caregivers who are also positive are quarantined at their home. For the moment, only one of our residents is hospitalized. The rest of the elderly are not showing serious or serious signs at this time. Each situation is looked at on a case-by-case basis, and a professional collegial decision with an infectious disease specialist enables the patient to be taken care of. “

A crisis meeting with the ARS was scheduled for this Friday evening to reorganize staff resources, review the modalities in the departments and envisage operation for the weeks to come.

Frédéric Delmas obviously wants to consolidate the teams which “not only have to deal with an additional workload, but also ensure a more substantial night presence, with nurses in particular”.

A new death this Friday in the Lot

While in its last epidemiological bulletin ARS Occitanie reported 5,431 tested positive since the beginning of the epidemic in our region, the Lot totaled this Friday evening one more death, since a man over 80 years old residing BiH nursing home, but hospitalized in Cahors, died.
This brings the results to 7 official deaths, 22 people hospitalized, including 7 in the intensive care unit, but also to 68 people returned to their homes. One of the elderly people who died at the start of the epidemic is still missing from this count, which therefore stands at 8 Lotois missing from the covid.

All the professionals in these structures remain vigilant regarding the development of the health status of their residents to whom they are very attached.

We did not manage to obtain information on the situation of the residence of Biars, managed by the CIAS of Cauvaldor, and the EHPAD of Bretenoux. Gilles Liébus, president of Cauvaldor, was worried about the health situation and was still awaiting the results of the screening, this Friday evening.

This Friday, 7 pm past, the ARS responded to our requests indicating by message that it would send us an email later.
