Dakar, August 9 (APS) – The Director of Prevention at the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday 172 new coronavirus contaminations, including 113 cases resulting from community transmission.
These new infections have been confirmed from virological tests carried out on 1656 people over the past 24 hours, said the Director of Prevention.
During the daily update of the epidemic situation, Doctor El Hadj Mamadou Ndiaye reported 172 positives including 59 contact cases and 113 community cases.
El Hadj Mamadou Ndiaye announced that 3 new deaths linked to Covid-19 were recorded on Saturday, while 43 serious cases are being taken care of in the intensive care units.
He announced that 23 patients have tested negative and declared cured. The health of the other patients is stable.
As of today, Senegal has 11,175 cases of covid-19 including 7,352 cured, 232 deaths and 3,590 patients under treatment, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Action.
