CoV forces shooting break for “Mission: Impossible”

Due to the corona virus, planned filming in Venice for the seventh film in the action series “Mission: Impossible” has been suspended. The production company Paramount Pictures announced today that it was a precautionary measure for the crew. It also takes into account the concern of the local authorities to avoid gathering people in public as far as possible.

The shooting in the lagoon city should take three weeks. According to Paramount, leading actor Tom Cruise has not yet traveled to Italy. The crew members who were already there were allowed to return for the time being. “Mission: Impossible VII” is scheduled for release in July 2021.

Italy has quickly become the largest focus of coronavirus infection in Europe. The Italian authorities reacted drastically to the epidemic. Eleven towns in northern Italy were cordoned off. The Venice Carnival was also canceled.
