The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has upheld the assault sentence against actor Bill Cosby. He can thus be released from prison, writes AFP.
Cosby was sentenced to between three and ten years in prison in 2018 for drugging and raping a woman in 2004. Cosby has already served two years in a prison near Philadelphia, but he had promised to serve all ten in order not to show remorse .
In 2019, he lost an appeal.
According to the AP, the verdict was reversed after the discovery of an agreement Cosby had with a former prosecutor that prevented him from being charged in the case.
The abuse case was the first in a series of cases that were up in court and ended with a verdict during the metoo movement.
