Weyher Diedrich Heumann, also known as the singing country doctor Dididoktor, has released a new CD with 18 songs. Two of them deal with corona and vaccination. According to his own information, the former doctor never tires of calling out to people to get vaccinated.

Weyhe – For the Weyher artist and physician Diedrich Heumann, heroes do not have to have superpowers, as in comics or films. A laboratory is enough. The 82-year-old from Jeebel says that Özlem Türeci (54) and Ugur Sahin (56) were among those heroes, because by developing their corona vaccine against Covid-19 they would have saved many lives around the world.

With the Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize 2022, the Biontech founders receive the most prestigious medical prize in Germany. The Weyher even suggests the doctor couple for the world’s highest award: The couple should receive the Nobel Prize. Dietrich Heumann has such great respect for the disease against which the vaccine from Biontech is supposed to help that he has addressed it twice on his new CD “It’s beautiful in Weyhe”.

“Hard wired in the clinic, clamped to hoses”

The song about Covid-19 disease and especially the lyrics stand out. “Corona quickly discovered me, smelled me and crept insidiously into my mouth,” he sings about in the song that he simply calls the Corona song. There it goes on to say: “In two weeks I will throw you off your high horse, season you and cook it soft.” In his song, he describes the fear of a person suffering from corona. “Hard wired in the clinic, clamped to hoses. In the neck of the breathing tube, I was lying in my last shirt. In a deep coma I saw neither shadow nor light. To this day, I don’t know what happened to me. ”After all, the course of a person seriously ill with Covid-19 ends well.

The Jeebler knows what he is writing about. He can put himself in the shoes of an intensive care unit: Heumann himself passed the medical exam in 1971 and worked for many years in an intensive care unit at the University Medical Center in Hamburg-Eppendorf. In Bremen he became a specialist in internal affairs and practiced in Arsten until 2005. There the patients gave him the name Dididoktor.

Because of his professional background, he, the doctor from Weyhe, never tires of calling out to people to get vaccinated. And that’s what the second Corona song is about. He replied to the questioners that science has collected so much data that vaccination is absolutely justifiable. The vaccination wins every balance, he tells the skeptics. To be armed against severe corona courses, that is the main effect of the vaccine, and the benefits outweigh the benefits. If you don’t want protection, you have to isolate yourself, otherwise Corona will someday – as in his song – creep insidiously into your body.

Eleven songs are “op Platt”

“I wrote the Corona song in autumn,” says the 82-year-old. His motivation? “The lateral thinkers are too loud for me and the artists too quiet,” he explains. Der Weyher criticizes that the lateral thinkers would refuse any scientific explanation. “But I don’t want to demonize them,” he says. “Many people are free riders who have fears.” Nevertheless, one must face reality when it comes to life or death, he emphasizes.

The Corona song and the vaccination song are among the few titles on the new CD that are written in High German. Of the 18 songs on the CD, eleven are “op Platt”. Diedrich Heumann not only processes the districts of Weyhe in the songs, but also the Weser and personalities such as Hinnerk aft Diek.

Heumann also garnishes the CD booklet with numerous pictures. They show Weyher districts. You can see the market square with the Weyher Theater, the train station, the Spieker, the water mill and the three churches: Marienkirche in Leeste, Felicianuskirche and the Catholic church in Kirchweyhe.
