In the fourth month of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of the territory of independent Ukraine, only 51% of Slovaks consider Russiaguilty of war in Ukraine.
This is stated in the materials on the results of a survey of the Bratislava think tank GLOBSEC.
According to the results of the survey, 48% of Hungarians believe that the Russian Federation is to blame, 19% that the West “provoked Russia”, 18% – that it was Ukraine that “infringed upon the Russian speakers.”

The strongest beliefs that Russia is to blame are found in Poland (87%), the Czech Republic (78%) and Lithuania (74%).
The largest number of those who are not sure of the guilt of one side or another (respondents indicating that they “do not know” or refuse to answer) are in Bulgaria and Lithuania (12% each), as well as in Hungary and Latvia (16% each). ).
The study, in the form of a computerized telephone survey, was conducted in March 2022 among 1,000 citizens in each country.
