NBA Anthony Davis on the rise
The contract extensions of LeBron James and Anthony Davis have refuelled the debate over whether the LA Lakers could have the best all-star team in NBA history.
The Lakers have seen some big names put on their jersey down the years, from Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron himself.
The extended stays of LeBron and Davis offer the pair the chance to continue their partnership together and cement themselves in this all-star team.
“AD could soon be the best power forward in history and that makes the Lakers the only team capable of putting together the best quintet of all time,” said ESPN’s Max Kellerman.
In this quintet, Magic Johnson holds the point guard spot, while LeBron beats Larry Bird to the place as small forward. As for the center position, there’s little to choose between Chamberlain, O’Neal and Kareem.
Kellerman has suggested that Davis could claim the spot in this quintet of power forward, especially if he continues his successful career. That just leaves the shooting guard, where some Lakers fans would take Michael Jordan over Kobe.
