At least two people were killed in Divo (200 km northwest of Abidjan) in violence on Saturday, in the wake of the inauguration of President Alassane Ouattara as a candidate for a third term, hospital sources said on Sunday and local.
“A person evacuated to the CHR (Regional Hospital Center) died of his wounds (…) this (Sunday) morning”, told AFP a hospital source, reporting “several serious injuries with machetes”. This death was confirmed by a local source. A teenager died in the fire on Saturday in a bush bar, according to several residents.
