Costing IDR 8 Trillion, Surya Paloh’s 1 Indonesian Skyscraper Designed to be Environmentally Friendly All

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Media Group through PT Media Properti Indonesia (MPI) officially becomes the full shareholder of the Indonesia 1 project on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta.

“Media Group through MPI has become the full owner of Indonesia 1 and we will continue the construction of the twin towers,” said Media Group CEO Mohammad Mirdal Akib in a virtual press conference, Friday (18/3/2022).

MPI has carried out the process of acquiring 100 percent of the project Building Indonesia 1 from China Sonangol Media Investment (CSMI) in December 2021.

With the full ownership, CSMI changed its name to PT Surya Indonesia 1 Properti.

Surya itself is taken from the name of the founder and owner of Media Group, Surya Paloh.

“At the moment building in the process of completion, there is still about 40 percent left, it is estimated to be completed in December 2023 with topping off about four months from today,” he said.

Mirdal explained that Indonesian Building 1 is a building designed friendly environment.

“What’s different is that all of the facilities in this building are environmentally friendly. So it was built with the concept of green technology that uses renewable energy,” he said.

There are several important environmentally friendly elements that are applied, including the energy processing process using solar panels.

Indonesia 1 uses solar panel energy or solar heat as one of the technologies being invested.

Second, the ceilings in every room in this building are also designed to be quite high.

“The ceiling height is also different from other buildings, so there’s saving energy which is quite large there,” Mirdal claims.

Third, related to the method of disposing of waste and dirt that is directed to be able to be recycled.

Mirdal claimed that during the construction period his party also used professional consultants to maintain and supervise the implementation of environmentally friendly concepts so that they were in accordance with what had been planned.

This building has been certified Greenmark Platinum Grade A for an international class commercial building and is connected and has direct access to the MRT station being built in the area.

To note, Indonesia 1 is a multifunctional building area, which includes offices, podium retail areas, and luxury residences.

Inside there are two towers, the North Tower which is 58 floors high and the South Tower which is 57 floors high.

The total floor area of ​​Indonesia 1 reaches 306,000 square meters, on an area of ​​18,900 square meters.

Indonesia 1 was built since 2015, with the laying of the first stone inaugurated by President Joko Widodo.

The development of Indonesia 1 is estimated to cost Rp 8 trillion.

This project is claimed to be an international-scale building that rises as high as 303 meters.

The naming of Indonesia 1 means one spirit, one pride, and one goal to build a nation.
