The body on the beach in Łeba was found on Tuesday, August 18. According to the police, the report from the person who noticed them in the water was received around 6 am.
The prosecutor and policemen from the investigation team went to the scene. The body was brought ashore and subjected to a preliminary examination. However, as Dorota Frączek, deputy district prosecutor in Lębork, points out, there is no indication that third parties contributed to the death of a middle-aged woman. No injuries were revealed, only minor abrasions to the forehead resulting from the drifting of the corpse.
The body has been secured for an autopsy to identify the causes of the woman’s death. It will take place in the coming days. No documents were found on the deceased woman, but her identity was initially established. Soon the body is to be presented to a person who will clearly confirm the identity of the deceased.
The investigation is aimed at manslaughter.
