Florence, 20 August 2020 – There are 59 new cases of coronavirus registered in the 24 hours until early afternoon on Thursday 20 August. The average age of the newly infected is 34 years old. And we can therefore see how the trend towards a marked lowering of the average age continues.
The bulletin was released from the Region, as usual. Of today’s 59 positives, 17 cases can be linked to returns from abroad, of which 12 for holiday reasons (plus 4 contacts).
The clinical status currently available it is for 37 cases out of 59, and are 51% asymptomatic and 49% pauci-symptomatic. The swabs performed in the last 24 hours are 4623.

Outbreak in the center for migrants
Thirteen cases of coronavirus recorded on Thursday 20 in Tuscany are attributable to a outbreak inside a migrant center.
The contagion map
This is how the virus moves in Tuscany. There are 3,422 overall cases to date a Florence (18 more than yesterday), 585 a Meadow, 783 a Pistoia (6 more), 1,108 a Pulp (3 more), 1,472 y Lucca (15 more), 985 a Pisa, 514 a Livorno (3 more), 744 AD Arezzo (5 more), 459 a Siena (2 more), 429 a Grosseto. There are 483 positive cases reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions (7 more). There are therefore 24 cases found today in the Central Local Health Authority, 21 in the North West, 7 in the South East.
Four more inpatients
Overall, 772 people are in isolation at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care, or are symptom-free (51 more than yesterday, plus 7.1%). I’m 1.941 (76 more than yesterday, + 4.1%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance because they have had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 1.038, North West 582, South East 321). The total number of people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to Covid patients today are 29 (4 more than yesterday, up 16%), 5 in intensive care (stable compared to yesterday).
The deaths
Today there are no new deaths. Therefore, 1,139 have died since the beginning of the epidemic divided as follows: 417 in Florence, 52 in Prato, 81 in Pistoia, 174 in Massa Carrara, 145 in Lucca, 91 in Pisa, 63 in Livorno, 50 in Arezzo, 33 in Siena, 25 in Grosseto, 8 people died on the ground Tuscan but were residents outside the region.
