The three products are Jinhua Qinggan granules, Lianhua Qingwen capsules and Xuebijing injections.
By adding this specification for the three drugs, they can now be used nationwide to treat patients, Zhang said.
One of the three drugs, the Lianhua Qingwen capsules, has also been approved for the Thai market, and French researchers are also planning clinical research to use it to treat patients, he continued.

Li Yu, director of the science and technology department at the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said the Jinhua Qinggan granules developed during the 2009 H1N1 flu pandemic are effective in treating mild and moderate COVID -19 patients. The Lianhua Qingwen capsule is also effective in treating light and moderate patients, especially when it comes to improving symptoms such as fever, cough and fatigue.
The Xuebijing injection, however, is often used in the treatment of serious and critically ill patients. It can increase the rate of recovery and decrease the rate of deterioration, Li said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Li also said that two TCM formulas have been approved by China’s National Medical Device Administration for clinical trials. These are the Lung Cleansing and Detoxifying Decoction and the Huashi-Baidu formula. The lung cleansing and detoxification decoction is suitable for patients with mild and moderate as well as with severe symptoms.
Wang Rongbing, a senior physician at Ditan Hospital in Beijing, said the method has been used in 28 provincial regions to treat COVID-19 patients at all stages with various symptoms and has had good results.
