Coronavirus, school decree, approval of the council of ministers: the commitment to distance learning will also weigh in the final evaluation

The current Council of Ministers gave the green light to of school, with all the measures to finish the school year facing the Covid-19 emergency. Confirm some of the advances given by Republic in recent days: there are two scenarios, depending on whether they resume lessons in attendance, or, as is more likely, students for this year will no longer return to class. Exceptionally, all pupils will be admitted to the following year, even those with insufficiencies registered in the first four months, but as the minister has repeatedly said Azzolina there will be “no 6 politicians”: in fact, the students will be assessed with final marks corresponding to the commitment shown during the year and in distance learning.

The watershed date is that of May 18: if we return to class by this date, and therefore have four weeks of lessons, the final exam would be assimilated to the test we know, but with some differences. The June 17th we start with the theme of Italian, a national test equal for all. The second written test, on the other hand, “will not be of a national nature, but prepared by the individual exam commission so that it is adherent to the teaching activities carried out during the school year”.

The decree establishes that the exam commissions are composed of internal professors and an external president. It will therefore be up to the internal professors, who know the class and the program well, to choose the topic of the second written test. At the end of June we start with the oral test.

For the exams of third year of middle school – reads in the draft “the elimination of one or more tests is foreseen by re-modulating the methods for assigning the final mark”. In practice, a more “facilitated” version of the exam would be envisaged. The most probable hypothesis, however, is that teaching activity in the classroom cannot resume by May 18 for health reasons. In this case, the graduates will skip both the written exams, Italian and second test. The final evaluation will be entrusted to an oral examination, “a single interview, explains the draft, articulating its contents, including telematic methods and points, to guarantee the completeness and fairness of the evaluation”. The exam will still remain ‘serious’, he assured Minister Azzolina.

They will also skip the middle school exams. Provided, the draft reads “the replacement of the final state exam of the first cycle of education which also takes account of a candidate’s paper”. For pupils who have training gaps, there is the possibility “of the possible integration and recovery of learning related to the school year 2019-2020 in the following school year, starting from September 1, 2020, as ordinary teaching activity”.

Green light also at assumptions requested by the Ministry of Education to recover part of the places freed in the summer of 2019 from a quota of 100. Therefore, a rule implemented in the decree is implemented school approved in autumn strongly desired by Minister Azzolina. It’s about 4,500 seats who will go to as many teachers, competition winners or present in the exhaustion rankings, who were unable to fill these places last September because they had not been made available.
