While infections and hospital admissions continue to decline, health workers are already thinking of a new rebound in the pandemic. The doctor Juan Turnes, head of Digestive and covid hospitalization coordinator of the Pontevedra Hospital Complex, pointed out on these stations that as a toilet you always have to put yourself in the worst case scenario. In fact, he explained that it is already being noticed in hospital operations. In the case of Montecelo, there are already 10 days of decreases in income. It has gone from more than 100 patients on the ward to 47, and from having 5 Covid areas to the current 3.
In the ICU the situation has also improved (It has gone from 34 to 15 critically ill patients), but even so, Juan Turnes points out that the healthcare pressure is still high, and that it will remain so for a few more days.
The data of the day indicate that in the health areas of Pontevedra-Salnés, and Santiago-Barbanza-Deza, the number of new positives stands at 45 cases in 24 hours.
In the Pontevedra-Salnés area there are 95 less sick than yesterday. In total there are 1,539 positive cases. Hospital pressure also continues to drop. There are 81 patients on the ward (5 less), and 15 in the Montecelo ICU (2 less than yesterday).
In the Santiago-Barbanza-Deza area Today there are 141 fewer patients. In total there are 1,469 active cases. And hospital pressure also drops, with 99 patients on the ward (2 less), and 26 in the Clinical ICU (4 less than yesterday). On the contrary, deaths continue to increase in both areas.
In the Pontevedra-Salnés area, Sergas confirmed last night the death of a 68-year-old woman, who was admitted to Montecelo, which is victim 142. And in the Santiago area, a 92-year-old man admitted to the Clinical, and there are already 313 deceased.
Meanwhile, to control this third wave, SERGAS continues with the screening. Today the screening that has been carried out in Vilaboa in recent days will conclude, and new screenings are announced in several health care centers.
