Rome, 14 August 2020 – Further ascent of the contagi from Covid. Today’s appointment with the bulletin of the Ministry of Health, which contains updates on the epidemic of Coronavirus in Italy, confirms the growing trend of the last few days (here the data of yesterday 13 August with another 523 positive): today there are 574 new positives and 3 dead. Then increase the concern especially on two fronts: returns from abroad with new restrictive rules and the chaos in airports on the front of anti Covid controls. The other front is that of too many gatherings in holiday places: especially accused discos with the pressure of the government and the advance of the Calabria that has closed them all. Even Spain, given the advance of Covid cases, closes the discos. Meanwhile, not only in Europe, but also in the rest of the world, the pandemic continues to run: more than 755 thousand deaths caused by the Coronavirus pandemic and 20,907,410 infected.
Covid, the data for today, August 14
New cases of Coronavirus in Italy are still on the rise: today 574 against 531 reported yesterday. There are 3 deaths, while 6 were recorded yesterday. The total number of cases rises to 252,809, the number of deaths in Italy is now 35,234, that of discharged healed is 203,326. THE hospitalized with symptoms are 771 (-15 on yesterday), in intensive care I’m 56 (+1 on yesterday), in home isolation 13,422 (+182). In detail by region, the greatest increase was recorded today on Veneto with 157, then Lombardy with 97 and Emilia Romagna with 57. Followed by Lazio with 45, Campania with 44, Sicily with 36, Marche with 32. The regions with no new cases are only Valle d’Aosta and Molise. The number of swabs it dropped to 46.723, against 51.188 yesterday (the ratio between positives and tests carried out increases), bringing the total to 7.467.487, of which 4.407.524 tested.

Lombardy
Contagions rise again in Lombardy. According to the region’s daily bulletin, in the last 24 hours, they registered 97 new cases e a death. Of these new infections, 15 are classified as ‘weakly positive’ and 2 following serological tests. The swabs made are 7,464. It should be emphasized that the healed / discharged are on the rise and reach 75,012 (+258), of which 1,376 discharged and 73,636 recovered. In intensive care there is only one case, while admissions not in intensive care are falling (-17). IS Milano the Lombard province which in the last 24 hours has recorded the highest number of infections from Coronavirus: as of yesterday, the new infected are 30, of which 17 in Milan city, according to official data from the Region. Followed by the province of Brescia, with 12 new cases, and Lecco and Pavia, both with 8 infected. There are 7 new cases in Bergamo. New infections have also emerged in all the other Lombard provinces: in Como (6), Mantua (4), in the province of Monza and Brianza (3) and Varese (6). Only one case, however, has been registered since yesterday in each of the provinces of Cremona, Lodi and Sondrio.
Lazio
The new infections in Lazio are increasing. “Today we record 45 almost. Of these, 22 are imported o concern young people returning from holidays: six returning from Malta, five from Romania, two from Corfu and another from the rest of Greece, two from Ibiza, two from Croatia, one from Ukraine, one from Azerbaijan, one from the States United and one from London “, announces the Regional Health Councilor, Alessio D’Amato, specifying that in the last 24 hours it was also registered a death.
Veneto
The number of infected people rises in Veneto: in the last 24 hours the positives are 127 more, bringing the total number of cases registered to date to 21,012. Currently positive patients are 1,470 while cases in home isolation are 5,963.
Emilia Romagna
In Emilia Romagna 47 new cases of Coronavirus, in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the Coronavirus epidemic, 30,314 positive cases have been registered in the Region. Of the cases today, 29 were already in solitary confinement at the time of the swab execution; 19 have been identified in the context of already known outbreaks, 21 are connected to holidays or returns from abroad (for which the Region has provided two nasal pharyngeal swabs during fiduciary isolation if arriving from non-Schengen countries, while for those returns from Croatia, Spain, Greece and Malta, a tampon without preventive home isolation was introduced). As for the situation in the provinces, the highest numbers are registered a Bologna (15 cases), in Modena (12) and in Reggio Emilia (8). In the province of Bologna, out of 15 cases, 3 (all asymptomatic) are cases diagnosed by the Local Health Authority of Bologna but transferred to the competent healthcare companies in other Regions. Of the remaining 12, 7 are traceable as imported cases (4 from Croatia, 2 from Albania and one from Tuscany) and 8 are symptomatic. The 4 asymptomatic, all included as sporadic cases, resulted from 2 tests for work categories, 1 swab following a positive serological test, 1 from contact tracing. Meanwhile, the Region has imposed a close on the symbolic places of nightlife to avoid a rise in Sars-Cov2 infections: theordinance, signed by the president Stefano Bonaccini, foresees to halve the capacity for the entrances (will be reduced by 50%) and establishes the obligation to always wear the mask. The eventual immediate closure of the premises as soon as infringements are ascertained. The provision is in force from 13 tomorrow, August 15th, and applies to those outdoors now in operation in the region. They also study rapid tests for Covid in all hospitals of Emilia Romagna: a goal that the Region intends to achieve in the autumn.
Tuscany
In Tuscany on the last day they registered 26 more positives, (5 identified in the course of tracing and 21 from screening activities). The attention on Covid infections will be kept even higher this weekend of August 15th: today and tomorrow, some gazebos will be regularly in the Tuscan squares, from 10pm to 2am, to ensure that more and more people choose to undergo to the free and quick exam.
Market
I’m tripled in the last 24 hours the cases of ‘Covid-19’ ascertained in the Market, ben 32 in the path of the new diagnoses, compared to the 11 identified yesterday: 19 in the province of Pesaro-Urbino, 6 in the province of Ascoli Piceno, 4 in the province of Ancona, one in the province of Macerata and 2 non-residents in the Marche.
The other regions
People currently positive for Coronavirus in Friuli Venezia Giulia there are 187, five more than yesterday. In the week from 7 to 14 August in Umbria, the positive cases went from 1,488 to 1,532: 44 more. The currently positive from 38 have become 73 while the recovered have increased from 1370 to 1379: of the total hospitalizations, which went from 8 to 10, no patient is resuscitated. In Perugia, the swabs for the search for Coronavirus were performed at the airport on passengers who have just arrived from Malta on a Ryanair flight. In Basilicata, instead, the 4 new cases of Coronavirus contagion have been confirmed by the regional task force compared to the 378 swabs processed yesterday. It is also alarm in Abruzzo for the circulation of the coronavirus among very young people: thirteen new cases ascertained in the last hours, ten of which concern boys between 18 and 24 years old. In Calabria 19 more positives, of which 4 are healthcare workers, and another 5 also in Sardinia. In Liguria there have been 20 new cases from Covid in the last 24 hours and 15 in Piedmont, but it is “data underestimated“, because, the Region explains in a note, “due to a technical failure of the network of regional information systems which also affected the Covid-19 Platform, today’s data are underestimated. They will be promptly updated as soon as the functionality is restored network”. There are 44 new cases of Covid19 positivity registered in Campania in the last 24 hours. In Sicily 36 new Coronavirus infections are recorded in the last 24 hours, but the Region specifies that 21 of these are migrants landed on the coasts of the island
