There are currently 4055 patients infected with a new type of coronavirus in the Czech Republic, and the number of positive cases is still increasing. There were 275 more on Tuesday.

Moravia and Silesia are calming down only slowly
In the Moravian-Silesian Region, where widespread anti-epidemic measures were introduced in mid-July, the situation is calming down, but only very slowly. On Wednesday, Governor Ivo Vondrák (YES) stated that there were 35 more cases of the disease in the region on Tuesday and that the time to relax the measures has not yet come.

The covid-19 disease appeared, for example, in the Ostrava Municipal Hospital, at the children’s camp in Štramberk or in various companies in the Ostrava, Novojičín and Frýdek-Místek regions. According to epidemiologists, the infection has spread to a risk group among people over 65 years of age.

The number of infected people is still the highest in the Karviná and Frýdek-Místek regions, with a slight increase in Ostrava.

There is a bit of confusion in the data on the number of people healed. Hygienists’ data show that three-quarters of more than 2,000 patients in the Karviná region have recovered, but the data was revised at the end of last week after not being updated for two to three weeks.

The virus is back almost in the whole Czech Republic
Out of the total cumulative number of 15,799 infected for the whole of the Czech Republic, 11,371 patients recovered on Wednesday, 373 of whom died. There are now 108 infected people in the hospitals.

Looking at the map of the News, which reflects the daily development of the currently infected, it is clear that the disease, which moved to the east of the republic at the beginning of the holidays, has now re-spread throughout the country, but the outbreaks are not evenly distributed.

Newly, for example, people in some places in the South Bohemian Region and in the Vysočina Region have to wear veils.

In the west of the republic, the situation currently seems to be the best – the number of infected people is in the order of case units and no cases are currently registered in the districts of Cheb, Domažlice and Český Krumlov. These are the only three districts in the republic.

Record increase in Prague
On the contrary, the highest increases over the past week are in Prague and its surroundings, in the Karviná, Frýdek-Místek, Jihlava, Brno and Ostrava regions.

On Tuesday, Prague hygienists recorded the highest daily increase in the city since the beginning of the epidemic – there were 101 cases of covid-19.

In Prague, hygienists register 158 infected in connection with a party in the Techtle Mechtle nightclub – there are 90 participants in the party and their contacts. Children’s camps are also contributing to the increase.

The Czech Republic is not alone with a higher increase in new cases in Europe, so there is talk of a possible start to the second wave of the pandemic.
