“Two members of the first part of the nine-member Slovak athletics team at the Games of the XXXII Olympics, who are at the training camp in Urajas, had to go to the mandatory 14-day quarantine.
The reason is the fact that they were identified as a possible close contact of the infected person on the plane they flew to Japan, “SAZ informs on the social network.
The head coach of Slovak athletes, Martin Pupiš, made it clear that this was a preventive measure.
“It’s nothing serious. The quarantine is valid from the 17th and will last until July 30,” said Martin Pupiš, head of the athletics team at the Tokyo Olympics and SAZ chief coach.
As part of the protection of personal data, the names of quarantined persons may not be published without their consent.
“Quarantine measures apply to both of them – they must be completely isolated from the others, they must not meet anyone, but they can continue to train when the other members of the team are not in the stadium.
Also, given that both people have been vaccinated and have had six negative PCR tests in a short time, the measures are more lenient. “
The management of the athletic part of the expedition was informed that two of its members were possible close contact of the infected person from the “covid” office of the city of Urajas, while the management of the entire Slovak Olympic expedition in the Olympic village directly in Tokyo was informed.
