Coronavirus in Spain: outbreaks, cases and deaths | August 12 summary

USERA, VILLAVERDE AND CARABANCHEL, THE MOST HIT DISTRICTS IN MADRID

The districts of Usera, Villaverde and Carabanchel have registered the highest number of new positives for coronavirus in Madrid capital, while Móstoles and San Sebastián de los Reyes are at the top of the list of municipalities in the last week, a period in which 74% of the newly infected were between 15 and 59 years old, according to the weekly epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health.

The median age was 36 years between August 3 and 9, when a total of 4,698 positives were reported, while the highest proportion of hospital admissions and mortality was registered in those over 80 years of age in that week, in which San Sebastián de los Reyes replaced Torrejón de Ardoz as the second municipality with the highest incidence per 100,000 inhabitants.

In absolute figures, the highest number of positives occurred in the range of 15-29 years, with 1,285 people, followed by the range of 30-39 years, with 903 infections, and 40-49 years with 774 positives, according to the weekly report.

By municipalities, Madrid capital registered 2573 infections, 249 in Móstoles, 175 in Fuenlabrada, 133 in Getafe, 126 in Alcorcón, 120 in Leganés, 118 in Torrejón de Ardoz, in absolute numbers. However, in incidence per 100,000 inhabitants, Móstoles is at the top followed by San Sebastián de los Reyes.

By municipal districts, Carabanchel tops the list with 348 infected in the last week, followed by Usera with 312 cases, Puente de Vallecas with 262 and Villaverde with 211 cases. However, Villaverde surpasses Puente de Vallecas in incidence per 100,000 inhabitants.

By genderSince the beginning of the study in May, 54% of those infected are women, and the cumulative incidence of the disease in the global population has been 256.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants since then.

Likewise, the highest proportion of ICU admissions correspond to ages between 30 and 59 years and deaths increase in proportion from 60-69 years, being higher in the group of 80 years in the last four months.
