More than 100,000 people over 40 are caught in a week to get vaccinated

The communities have achieved in the first week of September, after the holiday period, re-catch or attract 102,175 people over 40 for vaccination against COVID, since within this group 1.45 million people have yet to receive a dose, and of those that more than 50% belong to the age group of 40 to 49.

In this context of progress in the fight against the pandemic, although at a slower pace, Vaccination in the 70 to 79 year age group has yet to be closed, with almost all septuagenarians with the complete antidote, although with 1.4% still pending.

While from 60 to 69 years, 96.3% have completed the process, from 50 to 59, 92.8% and from 40 to 49, 84.7%.

In this stage, the communities are in full swing with campaigns, strategies and facilities to encourage vaccination among those who reject the vaccine, which according to Health do not even reach 1%, the undecided and people who have been postponing their appointment for the first dose.

In the 40 to 49 age group, the process of which was launched mainly in June, the majority of those over 40 are still awaiting the vaccine. In the last week, 52,253 in this age group have been attracted to the different vaccination points throughout the territory.

33,143 citizens from 50 to 59 years old, 13,104 from 60 to 69 years and 2,691 from 70 to 79 years have also attended to get vaccinated.

In total, they add up to more than 100,000 repeats in a week, which represent tenths in total population, but which represent small pushes every week for Spain to approach the maximum number of citizens with full protection and therefore the so-called herd immunity begins to materialize.
