Only 39 percent of Bulgarians believe that everyone should be vaccinated against coronavirus as part of their civic duty. This is the lowest level in the entire European Union, it is clear from the current “Eurobarometer”.

The average EU support for mass vaccination is 66%, with 86% of Portuguese in favor. There is also great approval in Malta, Spain and Sweden, where over 80% of people consider immunization a civic duty.

“Older respondents and those with lower education are more likely to support the claim that everyone should be vaccinated,” the study authors note.

51% of Bulgarians believe that the benefits of COVID-19 vaccines outweigh the risks, compared to an average of 71% in the EU, with similar skepticism in Slovenia. Our country is at the forefront of supporting the statement that “the authorities are not transparent enough about COVID-19 vaccines”. The national vaccination strategy is also not very popular.

Against this background, our compatriots are among the least supportive of the digital COVID certificate, reports You would.
