In Italy in the last 24 hours there have been 23,641 new cases of Covid-19 (from 24,036 yesterday) with 355,024 swabs (from 378,463) and 307 deaths (from 297 yesterday). Hospital admissions went from 20,374 to 20,701 (+327), patients in intensive care from 2,525 to 2,571 (+46). The positivity rate rose slightly from 6.35% yesterday to 6.65% today. Admissions to intensive care in the last 24 hours were 214, a slight decrease compared to the last few days.
Therefore, the resurgence of infections is confirmed, even if the hope is that the restrictive measures that have come into force in the most affected provinces and then also at the regional level can slow down the circulation of the virus in the coming weeks. In addition of course to the vaccination plan that has been showing for a few days acceleration signals.

At the regional level, the most affected is also today Lombardy with 5,658 new positive cases on 58,505 molecular and antigenic swabs processed. The Region reports 4,934 hospitalized patients (+130 compared to yesterday), of which 565 in resuscitation (+22). There are 50 admissions to intensive care in the last 24 hours (slightly down compared to previous days) and 67 deaths for a total of 28,705 since the start of the pandemic. Infections are increasing practically in all provinces: the metropolitan city of Milan is the most affected with 1,450 new positives, followed by Brescia (1,210), Monza and Brianza (537), Varese (407), Bergamo (394), Pavia (366 ), Como (363), Lecco (264), Mantua (261), Cremona (200), Lodi (75) and Sondrio (29).
The budget remains heavy also in Emilia Romagna even today the new positives have exceeded three thousand and are 3,232 to be exact. The most critical situations in the provinces of Bologna (852) and Modena (610). 25 new deaths have been recorded Since the start of the Coronavirus epidemic, 276,601 positive cases have been registered in the region. The swabs performed in the last 24 hours were 36,607 and the percentage of new positives on the number of swabs made since yesterday is 8.8%.
There are 2,843 (of which 405 cases identified by rapid antigen tests) positive cases in the last 24 in Campania on 25,527 swabs examined. The contagion curve therefore remains stable with an incidence rate of 11.13%, yesterday it was 11.22%. 24 deaths and 596 people healed. With regard to the occupation of the beds in intensive care, according to the data of the Crisis Unit there is a leap forward: if yesterday the places occupied were 140, today they are 148. The number of beds occupied in hospital is also increasing: yesterday they were 1358 and today they are 1385.
