Coronavirus in Italy. A resident of Albino treated himself with COVID-19 for several months

A resident of Albino, a town near Bergamo, Italy, has undergone 28 coronavirus tests over a four-month period. A recent study found it was no longer infected.

The case was reported on Friday by the local daily “L’Eco di Bergamo”, explaining that the 43-year-old man returned home in Albino after 115 days in hospital and quarantine. During this time, he was subjected to 28 tests for the coronavirus.

Months in hospitals

He was hospitalized at the end of March shortly after his father died of COVID-19. The months after he was first diagnosed with the infection, he spent first at the Pope John XXIII hospital in Bergamo, then in another facility, before returning to the first clinic when his health deteriorated.

After he felt better and was discharged, he couldn’t go home because the next tests were still positive. He was also quarantined in his father’s apartment, and he met with the rest of the family going out onto the terrace.
