Coronavirus in hospital in Ile-de-France: the decline continues

The number of new hospitalizations drops to the level of the end of August

While the number of new hospitalizations did not completely drop between the second and the third wave, it fell back to the level of early September 2020, before the start of the second wave, representing 521 people the week of June 7 against 731 the previous week. At the same time, 1,089 were discharged from the hospital, almost double the number of patients.

3,063 Covid patients hospitalized in Ile-de-France as of June 13

In total, the number of patients hospitalized for Covid-19 in Ile-de-France stood at 3,063 this Sunday, June 13 against 3,737 the previous week, a further decrease. The peak was reached on Monday April 19 with 8,210 hospitalized patients. The number of hospitalized Covid patients is thus clearly below between the 2nd and 3rd wave but still above the 1st and 2nd wave.

98,161 people discharged from hospital

In Ile-de-France, 98,161 people hospitalized in Ile-de-France for coronavirus have been able to return home since the start of the epidemic.

149 intensive care admissions the week of June 7

149 patients were admitted to intensive care or intensive care for Covid-19 the week of June 7 against 164 people the previous week, again in decline.

The peak of ICU admissions for this 3rd wave was reached the week of March 29 with 1001 admissions. That of the 2nd wave the week of November 2 with 641 admissions. That of the first wave the week of March 30, 2020 with 1648 admissions.

615 people in intensive care in Ile-de-France for Covid-19

In total, 615 patients were in intensive care or intensive care for Covid-19 in Ile-de-France on Sunday, June 13, compared to 730 the previous Sunday. This new decrease makes it possible to move further away from the theoretical maximum threshold of intensive care places in the region, which is 1,200.

The peak of the 3rd wave was reached on April 20 with 1,801 patients. That of the second wave on November 12 with 1138 patients. That of the first wave was reached on April 8 with 2,668 patients in intensive care in Ile-de-France.

The average age of ICU patients continues to decline

The average age in intensive care has decreased with the vaccination of older people. Thus, the over 70s who represented more than 40% of sheave patients at the end of January now represent around 25%. At the same time, those under 60 have gone from less than 30% to almost 40%.

89 people died in Covid-19 hospital last week in Ile-de-France

89 people died last week in Ile-de-France against 131 the previous week.

As of June 13, 20 352 people had died from Covid-19 in hospital in the region since the start of the pandemic compared to 20,263 the previous week. The number of people who died from Covid-19 in hospital exceeded 10,000 in Ile-de-France on November 15 and 20,000 on May 26.

A peak of deaths on April 20

In this 3rd wave, the peak of deaths was observed on Tuesday April 20 with 124 deaths in one day, exceeding that of the second wave, which was 113 deaths on November 9, but below that of the first wave which had was reached on April 7 with 276 patients who died.
