The Government reported that 8,159 people tested positive for the Covid-19 coronavirus in the last 24 hours and the infected reached 329,043. Also, 214 deaths entered the official records and the total number of deaths is 6,730. The recovered, meanwhile, already total 239,806.

In the morning 50 deaths were added: 34 were men: 13 in the province of Buenos Aires; five in the city of Buenos Aires; two in Chaco; eight in Jujuy; one in Mendoza; one in Chubut; one in Entre Ríos; two in Neuquén and one in Salta. Of the 16 women: 10 lived in the province of Buenos Aires; four in Jujuy and two in Mendoza.
At night, 164 deaths were added: 94 were men: 61 lived in the province of Buenos Aires; 14 in the city of Buenos Aires; one in Córdoba; one in Corrientes; 10 in Jujuy; one in Mendoza; one in Salta; five from Santa Fe. 70 are women: 47 lived in the province of Buenos Aires; 12 in the city of Buenos Aires; one in Córdoba; one in Entre Ríos; five in Jujuy; one in Mendoza; one in Salta; one in Santa Fe and one in Santiago del Estero. In addition, a 41-year-old male person notified as deceased, resident in the province of Buenos Aires, was reclassified as not deceased.
Regarding the people admitted to intensive therapy for Covid-19, 24% of the patients live in the provinces and outside the AMBA. The total number of critical internees due to the virus is 1853 throughout the country. 76.6% of them in establishments in the city and the province of Buenos Aires, 4.6% in Córdoba and 3.9% in Mendoza, as indicated in the report.
The occupation of intensive care beds, beyond the illness that explains the hospitalization of the patient, averages 58% at the national level, while in the AMBA it reaches 67.1%.
There are already 15 provinces with community circulation
During the morning report, Carla Vizzotti, Secretary of Access to Health of the Nation, said that 20% of the cases reported yesterday occurred outside the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) and that there are already 15 provinces that register community transmission.
The official added that the “slowdown” in the increase in AMBA cases is “good news,” but that does not mean that “the problem is over.” Rather, the distancing measures that must continue to be sustained in order to “visualize” a decrease in the contagion curve are having an “effect”.
For it, stressed the need not to underestimate symptoms, contact the health system and maintain the isolation of suspected and confirmed cases. In addition, he called for “redoubled attention” on protection measures during social gatherings.
Yesterday 21,695 new samples were made and since the beginning of the outbreak, 1,052,687 diagnostic tests for this disease have been carried out, which is equivalent to 23,198.8 samples per million inhabitants. To date, the total number of registrations is 239,806.
