The jump in infections and deaths was relativized, in part, by health authorities from the main districts who were consulted by THE NATION and they explained some of the variables that led to the rise and that have as main focus the problems that occurred over the weekend to load the new infected and deceased to the National Health Surveillance System (SNVS).

In the Buenos Aires case, about 250 of the new infections, which meant a new peak for the Capital, are remnants of cases that could not be uploaded to the SNVS weekend. “Similarly, tomorrow we will follow up to see if the cases do not skyrocket,” they detailed.

The analysis they do in Buenos Aires land is similar, although they admit that between Sunday and Monday they had already loaded the largest amount of the cases that could not be uploaded on Saturday when the system fell.

“If you look at the parts, historically, the day that most cases are reported are Tuesdays. Partly due to the carryover of samples that are not processed over the weekend. However, in our case the rise in cases did not trigger the occupation of hospital beds. At this point is the big difference. Before, the average number of daily infected people needing health care was 8 percent. Today, it is at 3 percent. So we don’t have the system close to saturation. In addition, the average age of new cases is 35, that helps them not be seriously ill, “they explained from the Buenos Aires Province health area.
