TheGermany will lift on Monday, and not Tuesday as originally planned, its border controls with its european neighborsput in place against the pandemic coronavirus, said Saturday the German Interior ministry.
The border controls will be lifted in the night of Sunday to Monday, said a spokesman for the ministry.
Re-opening at the same time as its european neighbours
Germany will reopen its borders at the same time as its european neighbours, including France, and not the next day.
The government ofAngela Merkel removes in particular the obligation to have a valid reason to enter
in the country.
Germany had established in mid-march of controls at its borders with some of its neighbours in order to contain the spread of the virus.
Only the cross-border workers or transport of food were allowed to pass, the visits of a private nature were, however, prohibited.
