From today, August 20, at the airport of Milano Malpensa there are eight stations to swab passengers arriving from the four countries at risk. But how do they work? How can you book? And who are they for? Until yesterday evening, at 8 pm, the regional toll-free number 800 89 45 45 was literally groping in the dark.
«To us – they say – they have not communicated anything and we do not know how it will unfold. The tampon cannot be reserved ». After five minutes, we call Malpensa airport directly according to which the booking of the test at the airport is possible through the Ats Insubria website. “But it’s only for citizens residing in Lombardy and in any case it is operational only from 9 to 17. After no ». Then the operator vents: «It was difficult for us to have this information, she has no idea… There is a lot of confusion».
Everything that doesn’t add up
The Councilor for Welfare of the Lombardy Region Giulio Gallera he talked about eight stations active every day until 6.30 pm. But Malpensa airport corrects it: up to 5pm. Eight hours a day. For the commissioner, tests can be carried out both for Lombard citizens returning from the four countries and for passengers arriving from the same countries who, however, have planned to stay in Italy for at least four days. But at the Malpensa switchboard they had not specified this second possibility. “Only Lombard” they reiterated. And all the others?
The treasure hunt to reserve the buffer
Also from the information office of Malpensa airport they tell us that, to book the tampon at the airport, you must contact Ats Insubria which, however, postpone to the Sea Aeroporti website: «To perform the swab directly at Malpensa airport, you need to book through the platform available on the Sea Aeroporti website». There, however, there is no explicit reference to the swab to be carried out at the airport but only one generic “Report of return to Ats” (page updated on 14 August). A chaos. This is the link correct? Meanwhile, many are starting to report it on Twitter.
At Malpensa, the swabs will be carried out by Ats Insubria, in collaboration with Asst Valle Olona and Asst Sette Laghi, while from Friday the service should also be extended to Linate airport – managed by staff from the Policlinico San Donato group – and to the Orio airport al Serio (Bergamo). But perhaps someone should clearly explain to citizens what they must do without rebounds between 800, Ats Insubria and Malpensa airport.
