CORONAVIRUS: Exceptional measures for the payment of corporate taxes

Public finance proposes measures for businesses and the self-employed.

Press release from the Directorate General of Public Finance of March 14, 2020:

Coronavirus – Exceptional measures for the payment of taxes

In order to take into account the impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic on economic activity, and in accordance with the announcements of the President of the Republic on March 12, 2020, the DGFiP is mobilizing to support businesses and individual entrepreneurs who are having trouble declaring or paying their next due dates.

– If you are a business (or if you are a chartered accountant and work for clients in this situation), you can ask your corporate tax department to postpone without payment the payment of your next direct tax payments (down payment corporate tax, payroll tax).

– If you have already paid your March installments, you may still have the possibility of opposing the SEPA direct debit with your online bank. Otherwise, you can also request reimbursement from your corporate tax department, once the deduction is effective.

– If you are self-employed, we remind you that you can adjust your rate and your advance payments at source at any time. You can also defer the payment of your withholding taxes on your professional income from one month to the next up to three times if your installments are monthly, or from one quarter to the next if your installments are quarterly. All these procedures are accessible via your special space on impots.gouv.fr, section “Manage my direct debit”: any intervention before the 22nd of the month will be taken into account for the following month.

– If you have a monthly payment contract for the payment of your CFE or your property tax, you can suspend it on impots.gouv.fr or by contacting your Service Direct Debit Center: the remaining amount will be taken from you, without penalty.

To facilitate all of your procedures, the DGFiP provides you with a request form, available on the impots.gouv.fr website, to be sent to your corporate tax service.

For any difficulty, do not hesitate to contact your corporate tax department, via the secure messaging of your professional space, by email or by phone.

We thank you for your confidence.
