Bergamo, March 14, 2020 – A technical operator from 118 in Bergamo, operating in Soreu, the operational center of the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital, the hospital at the center of the coronavirus emergency, is dead last night after being infected by the Covid-19. He was 47 years old. Already a few nights ago the station – which collects emergency calls also from Brescia and Sondrio forwarded from 112 – had been closed and sanitized, also because other operators had accused symptoms and had been at home. The calls had been diverted to other Lombard power plants.
