Coronavirus: Chelsea Hotel is open to doctors and nurses

In the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the English football club Chelsea and its Russian owner Roman Abramowitsch are making a hotel available to the British health service NHS.

Doctors and nurses should be allowed to stay for free in the Millennium Hotel, which is right next to the Stamford Bridge Stadium, for at least two months.

Chelsea FC announced this on Wednesday. The initiative therefore comes from Abramowitsch, who also wants to cover the costs of accommodating the NHS employees.

“Many of the medical staff will work long shifts and may not be able to drive home or have to travel long distances,” the club announcement said. “On-site accommodation helps maintain the health and well-being of these key people in this critical time.”
