Due to the world economic crisis caused by Covid-19, and that Mexico is expected to have a 6.6% drop, the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador this afternoon he asked the Mexicans to save as much or as little as they have to face this pandemic.
In a 17-minute video broadcast on his social networks, López Obrador pointed out that the economic revival plan, social and school after the coronavirus emergency situation.
He also indicated that preliminary figures from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) point out that to date 500,000 jobs have been lost, but “the truth is that it was thought that we were going to fall more.”
“Do not get into debt, save, save. I take this opportunity to tell people that we are downloading these resources directly and it is not superfluous to say that you have to save, even if it is the little they receive, take care of it, “he said.
“In everything, save to get ahead, as much or as little, that we take care of it and we are seeking that the much or little that the country has is distributed with justice that reaches everyone. For the good of all, first the poor, ”he said.

By showing projection charts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), noted that throughout the world there will be economic decline and recession, and in Mexico it is estimated that there will be a 6.6% drop in the economy.
“Look, this is a projection from the IMF. In all cases there is a recession, instead of growth there will be a decrease in the economy. United States -5.9% the economy is going to fall; Germany -7%; France -7.2%; Italy-9%; Spain –8%.
“They calculate us -6.6%. Note that China is going to grow 1.2%, when China for decades has grown on average 10% and now they calculate 1.2%; India 1.6% and all others in recession. The worst recession since the Great Depression, from the crack of 1929 to 1933 ”, he highlighted.
Reporting that just as it has happened in the United States – where more than 20 million jobs have been lost – in Mexico around 500 thousand jobs have been lost from January to April.
Against this background, the Federal Executive pointed out that the Mexican Government’s program is to inject resources and strengthen the popular economy.

“We think that in this way we will achieve the recovery of the economy. We are going to announce next week – I hope on Wednesday – the plan to reopen economic, social, cultural activity, that is, the end of quarantine.
“We are going to restart very carefully, little by little, with sanitary measures so that the situation is not complicated. We now have good results in what fits because I already said, it hurts that human lives are lost, even if only one person loses his life, “he said.
He noted that in the last 10 days, 16 billion pesos have been delivered in credits to small entrepreneurs and social programs, but throughout the month of May, it is expected to disperse 132 billion, 101 billion pesos in June and 123 billion in July.
He explained that to support small merchants, 125,260 loans have been delivered, with an amount of 3,131 million pesos; and in loans to the word 303 thousand have been dispersed with an amount of 7 thousand 594 million pesos.
In this sense, he asked the beneficiaries to go to the branches of Azteca Bank to collect these supports.
Regarding the “The School is Ours” program, López Obrador pointed out that those schools that have already created and registered their parents committee, asked them to go to this same bank to withdraw the resources, which total almost 5,000. million pesos, and advised that this support be used in the construction of works, such as classrooms, bathroom repairs.
“That they give work to the bricklayer teachers, to the construction workers, because there are 25 thousand schools, we want them to be 25 thousand work fronts. We can have at least five construction workers working in these schools and this reactivates the economy downwards, ”he pointed out.
While in the Tandas for Well-being, he pointed out that 67 thousand loans have been given with an amount of 405 million pesos.
He reiterated the recognition of Mexican migrants living in the United States who, despite the crisis caused by the pandemic, have sent in March 4 billion pesos, which is the main source of income that Mexico has.
“And I have information that this is how April comes. Thank you very much countrymen, because all this is going down. We are talking about 10 million shipments, on average each shipment 380 dollars, which is about 9 thousand pesos for each family of remittances. This helps a lot, “he said.
The President informed that in addition 180 thousand supports for 7 thousand pesos will be delivered to each fisherman and asked that this amount be distributed in an equitable and not “macho” way.
“Thinking also of the family, we are going to deliver 180 thousand fishermen; Their support is going to come directly to them, but it is for the family of the fishermen, it is for the whole family, and when that support arrives – it will be this May – we will start with 7 thousand pesos per fisher.
“There are 180 thousand, take care of it there and that it is equitable, that it is for the whole family, that it is not, now that the money management is macho, that the man only keep the money, for the so-called head of the house and it is spent and nothing comes for the family, for the children, for the fellow wives, “he said.
