IGC-Education demands attention to centers for minors and disabled people that are managed by private entities or whose management is privatized. They remember that in the case of A Coruña the first deceased was precisely a user of the Aspronaga, although from the nationalist union they explain that the measures taken by the center have located the suitable ones. “It was the tragedy that caused things to go well,” said he, head of CIG-Education, Suso Bermello.
However, this is not the situation in the other centers that are distributed throughout Galicia. There are four more in our metropolitan area, another two in A coruña, in Now and Betanzos. Centers that do not have adequate health teams or professionals with adequate training, according to the union. “There are no tests, there is no minimal control of material and insufficient”, denounces Bermello.
The CIG calls for better organization of the Xunta de Galicia, given that these residence centers are not expendable and cannot close. Suso Bermello also calls on companies and entities to assume their responsibilities and guarantee health security.
